My name is Michael Gietzen, and I’m Managing Director of Identity Group.

Identity specialises in the manufacture and implementation of corporate branding with more than 20 years’ experience in the industry. We have grown to become a major supplier of digital marketing, events management and commercial signage across the UK and Europe. As MD I oversee the Group’s strategic vision whilst maintaining an involvement in all major projects undertaken by the company. I thoroughly enjoy the responsibilities and challenges of this role, as it allows me to work with great brands on a variety of exciting projects and events. I have a personal passion for unique experiential experiences and first-class internal branding, and my position affords an enormous amount of opportunity and rewarding work.

My vision for Identity is to see it become one of the UK’s top brand communication companies, realising a global reach whilst still retaining its core values of exceptional customer service and experience. We are a family run business with over 40 members of staff – large enough to tackle almost any job but still small enough to provide the attention to detail required to deliver a successful project. I am well aware of the importance of a positive work and life balance, too. As a family man with a one-year old infant son, this often presents a number of challenges! Quality family time and the support of loved ones is critical – it’s all too easy to overlook the importance of relaxation but it’s essential for the peace of mind which underpins good business leadership.

Over the coming weeks and months I will be looking at how to best manage this balance within the pages of this blog, as well as providing my thoughts and guidance on entrepreneurship, good business practices and the art of negotiation, plus what I’ve learned in sales, marketing and strategy. I’ll outline my vision for the events industry and Identity’s place therein – and I’ll share one or two of my favourite quotations, too.

I hope you find this journey rewarding, and I encourage you to connect with me on Twitter and LinkedIn, where I’ll be happy to engage in conversation and answer any questions that you might have.
