International Women’s Day is an annual day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. A challenged world is an alert world and from challenge comes change which is why this year’s theme is choose to challenge.

By challenging boundaries, decisions and attitudes, change will come. At Identity, we recognize the need to encourage change to increase equality.

We reached out to the strong women behind Identity to give them the acknowledgement and stage to express what drives them in both work and life.

“The word challenge has many connotations, to me, overwhelmingly the word challenge means CHANGE.

Choosing to Challenge means collectively standing up and calling out inequality in our day-to-day lives, by doing this we can ensure we are making the needed steps to change our surroundings for the better.

There are fundamental changes that are needed to reach gender equality, from supporting women who wish to have children and return to work, without the fear of being left behind by male counterparts, to valuing the work of the “housewife” something in society that has long been disregarded as “real” work, because it is unpaid, and was largely viewed as a women’s identity up until recent history.

Gender equality means educating, breaking down barriers, giving girls and women access to the support they need to thrive. Knowing how to do this can be overwhelming, so it’s important to understand that no matter what support you offer, how grand the gesture, how small the thought, any push toward gender equality will ultimately benefit us all.” – Aimee-Louise Nunan, Creative Resource Manager.
