Our Event Project Managers have the responsibility of the day to day running of a project, whether it be a Showroom Installation, Conference or Exhibition. They have the ability to plan, organise, prioritise and deliver multiple projects simultaneously to a high standard. They see the project through from the start until completion and are usually the first point of contact with the client ensuring good customer service.

One of our newest and youngest members of the Projects team is James O’Niell, who joined the company back in October 2015. Before joining Identity, he worked as a Chef where he quickly moved up the ranks from Commis Chef to Sous Chef within the space of a year. Coming from working in the catering industry, he is used to working in high pressured environments and understands the hours which a Project Manager has to sometimes put in to get the job done.

As his industry knowledge and abilities grew, he was given more and more responsibility within his role. He rose to the challenges set and was achieving things he never thought he would be able to do within his first year. He puts this down to the team around him and his own personal determination to succeed, stating:

“We have a great team at Identity, each and every one of them is extremely talented and I feel privileged to work for a company that houses so much talent”.

Over the past year, James has accrued a number of Client accounts which he manages on a day to day basis varying from large scale exhibition requirements to smaller events and signage. Since he started, he has overseen many exhibition builds (onsite and in the office) along with a number of showroom installs.

James loves working on the diverse nature of the projects we deliver here at Identity stating there is “never a dull day”. He enjoys travelling with the job, getting to experience new surroundings and the challenges it can sometimes bring. Getting to see the world and getting paid for it is surely everyone’s dream…I know it is his!

James’s proudest moment since joining the company was his first exhibition stand he delivered for Dolphin Dispensers at ISSA in Amsterdam. Dolphin Dispensers manufacture and sell high end commercial bathroom accessories/fittings and this show was a chance for them to display a new line of products. After speaking with him, he stated:

“You may laugh, but I was actually excited to be working on a project that involved toilets! Seeing this project through from start to finish was immensely rewarding. One of the most exciting parts of the process is seeing the clients vision come to life via our very talented design studio. I attended the show myself to oversee the build and it was a great feeling when the client arrived and when we presented their stand to them. It’s a day I will never forget. I was gleaming with pride”

James has an incredibly hard working ethos and tackles every project with a positive attitude. He has risen to every challenge which has been given to him and has become a well valued member of the team. Since starting at Identity he has grown in confidence and clients can’t help but love the ‘cheeky chappy’. After only being here a year he has developed and learnt so much yet he still admits, “Every day is a school day”.
