The 47th G7 Summit will be delivered by events agency Identity.

Following a competitive tender process, the Foreign and Commonwealth Development Office (FCDO) appointed Identity to deliver the three-day world summit. The event, where prime minister Boris Johnson, leaders of G7 nations, the EU and guest countries will meet, will take place in Carbis Bay, Cornwall on 11-13 June 2021.

The event will be one of the first major international summits to take place since the pandemic, heralding the long-awaited return to live events.

Michael Gietzen, managing director, Identity said: “This will be the largest multilateral summit that the UK will host following its departure from the EU and, indeed, the UK’s first international in-person event since the pandemic lock-down.”

A crucial element of the delivery is sustainability and support to local suppliers, with Identity and the Government working together to engage local firms as much as possible in the delivery of the summit.

Janet Dodd, director of live events, Identity added: “We are honoured  to have been chosen and trusted to deliver this very important and prestigious event. Once again Identity will be able to showcase its expertise in the smooth execution of a major, high-profile international event.

“From a delivery aspect, we will apply our best-in-class experience of working with world leaders and, at the same time showcase the very best of Cornwall.”

Identity is an events agency that has experienced extraordinary success over the last decade – this year it ranked 25th place in the Sunday Times Fast Track 100 league table of the fastest-growing companies in the UK – the only events agency to appear on the list. Led by MD, Michael Gietzen, 35, the agency’s work has been in demand across the private and public sectors for some time. It is one of the few continuous rising stars in the events sector – a sector that was effectively shut down amidst the pandemic.
