End of Year Review – An Absolutely Blockbusting 2019!
As we prepare to welcome in the New Year, it gives us a chance to reflect on what has well and truly been a momentous last twelve months for us at Identity.
To be concise, 2019 has been nothing short of spectacular – a whole host of new wins, projects, accolades and significant expansion have meant it’s been a landmark year and definitely one to savour.
Without further ado, behold the achievements, milestones and projects which have made 2019 so remarkable…
- ICE London
Starting the year off with a bang was ICE London, the biggest show in the iGaming calendar. ICE London 2019 reached record levels of attendance and Identity had the privilege of working with three fantastic clients, Sportradar, NSoft and Digitain, to deliver their exceptional stands. If you’re not familiar with the show, it provides a unique platform to showcase some of the most exciting and original event technologies in a very hi-tech environment.
Shortly after ICE London, Identity was officially recognised as a top-tier supplier to industrial giant and innovator supreme, Siemens. Employing over 350,000 throughout the world, Siemens is a powerhouse, not just in terms of its size and innovation prowess but it’s positive environmental impact too. The first collaboration between Siemens and Identity took place at the Goodwood Festival of Speed (see highlight #6).
- Highways England
Continuing the succession of impressive new client acquisitions, Identity was thrilled to win the multi-year live events contract for Highways England. Since working with Highways England, Identity has already successfully delivered over 20 projects, including designing and building its stand for the UK’s flagship road network show, Highways UK.
Back in May, Identity managed and delivered VisitBritain’s flagship event, ExploreGB. Held at the Harrogate Convention Centre in (surprise, surprise) Harrogate, Yorkshire – ExploreGB catered for over 230+ delegates arriving from all over the globe. The vast size and variety within the event meant it felt like several events in one, not many (if any) events can boast hosting a staggering 25,000 meetings over two days.
- Global Conference for Media Freedom
July saw Identity manage and deliver the inaugural Global Conference for Media Freedom. Catering for over one thousand delegates while featuring celebrities and high-profile politicians, this event drew global media coverage and was delivered with machine-like precision.
- Festival of Speed
Identity worked with three clients at the hugely popular Goodwood Festival of Speed which took place in July. The festival attracts over 200,000 festivalgoers each year and we delivered activations for new clients Siemens, Fuse and Waldorf Astoria along with longstanding clients and friends, Eurotunnel. Among the activations were a functioning hydrogen fuel cell, luxury spa and DeLorean made famous by Back to the Future.
- Royal Navy and Royal Air Force
In August, Identity was awarded the multi-year contract to deliver the outreach programmes for the Royal Navy and Royal Air Force, two of the most well-recognised and important services in the UK. Since then, Identity has already managed and delivered over 300 events, including WorldSkills UK LIVE which attracted a colossal audience of over 72,000.
- Top 50 Events Agencies
C&IT’s annual Top 50 Events Agencies report included Identity for the first time as was published in September. Ranking 34th in our debut appearance, we’re delighted to feature although it’s a definite goal to improve our ranking next year – the ambition is top 15…
- The Identity Conference
For the last five years, Identity has hosted an internal conference designed to bring all colleagues together to learn, develop, reflect and look forward to the next year. Our continued expansion underpins the necessity of the conference, this year’s (the fifth) was held in October at a brand-new venue in Eastbourne featuring workshops and learning sessions with four event tech specialists.
- The Sunday Times Fast Track 100
Number ten marks another accolade, this time it’s inclusion in The Sunday Times’ prestigious Fast Track 100 league table. After a fantastic 2018/19, Identity placed 90th in a league table that features well-known names such as BrewDog, Grenade and Gymshark – we’re in great company.
How can you wrap up an already sensational 2019? By delivering the NATO Leaders’ Meeting.
December’s event was the first time the meeting has been held in London since 1990 and marked the 75th anniversary of the Alliance. To deliver an event of this scale, magnitude and stature meant a huge amount of effort and meticulous planning were needed. The event featured over 3,000 people on-site, including 29 world leaders, over 1,500 press and hundreds of security, we’re delighted to say it ran without a hitch!
- Continued Expansion
This year alone Identity has added over thirty members of staff, improved and expanded its East Sussex HQ and added a further 12,000+ sq. foot of storage space with a brand-new dedicated facility. The greater resources at our disposal means we’re more efficient, more creative and more hungry than ever. There are plans for further expansion too, so keep an eye-out next year.
2020 and beyond…
While we don’t necessarily know what the next year entails – we have an inkling and we’re excited! More client wins, more projects, more investments and continued expansion are just some of the things we’re striving for, so if you’d like to keep up-to-date with all-things Identity – stay tuned!
