Job Description

The Full Stack Developer will develop and manage the creative execution and delivery of scalable software solutions across multiple platforms. You’ll be part of a cross-functional digital team that’s responsible for the full software development life cycle, from conception to deployment. As a full stack developer, you should be comfortable around both front-end and back-end coding languages, development frameworks and third-party libraries. You should also be a team player with a knack for visual design and utility.

An in-depth understanding of front and back-end app development across the 3 core platforms (web, iOS and Android) and excellent technical knowledge across all aspects of a digital project lifecycle is essential. As a key member of the Identity team, the Full Stack Developer will both facilitate their own software development and utilise our existing network of developers, subject to skills required and capacity, to ensure projects are delivered on time, in budget and to the highest of standards.

Projects at Identity range from bespoke one-off app builds for live events to complete digital overhauls for our larger clients. A few examples of projects our team has delivered recently include:

  • Event management system with API
  • Global conference registration system with API
  • Conference iOS and Android event app
  • iGaming event digital quiz
  • Visitor eligibility checkers for shopping centre pop-ups

The Full Stack Developer needs to have excellent coordination skills as they are responsible for the management and implementation of digital products, both for clients and Identity. This includes: attending meetings and pitches, developing technical briefs, project management, liaising with and building relationships with other developers, overseeing digital production, advising on internal process and technological improvement, quality assurance and continuous improvement. Accordingly, first class documentation across all stages of a project, including but not limited to technical briefs, project plans, guides, tutorials and handovers, is essential.

Client satisfaction is our highest priority at Identity and the Full Stack Developer must have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to speak to clients and other stakeholders confidently while explaining technical and often complex solutions and projects simply and effectively. Skills & Responsibilities:

The Full Stack Developer is expected to have up-to-date knowledge of:

  • HTML 5
  • CSS3 (knowledge of Bootstrap preferable)
  • JavaScript (ECMAScript)
  • Experience in creating Offline First/Progressive Web Apps
  • React (front-end)
  • js (back-end)
  • React Native
  • SQL (MySQL/MariaDB) and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases
  • Git
  • Experience with AWS (preferable) or GCP/Azure
  • Basic Linux Command Line usage
  • Experience in integrating with 3rd party APIs

Typical responsibilities for this role include:

  • Participating in the design and creation of scalable software
  • Working alongside producers and other developers to ideate software solutions
  • Leading on digital projects and overseeing digital production
  • Building relationships with our developer supply chain
  • Designing client-side and server-side architecture
  • Writing clean, functional code on the front-end and back-end
  • Building front-end applications and features with appealing visual design, including mobile responsiveness
  • Developing and managing well-functioning databases and applications
  • Writing effective APIs
  • Testing software to ensure responsiveness and efficiency
  • Troubleshooting, debugging and upgrading software
  • The creation of security and data protection settings
  • Writing technical documentation
  • Attending client meetings and pitches
  • Understanding, recording and developing digital briefs
  • Liaising with digital, marketing, design and other teams at Identity
  • Advising on internal process and technological improvement
  • Quality assurance and continuous improvement


The position requires exceptional attention to detail and a drive to maintain Identity’s high-quality standards, and desirable qualities for the Full Stack Developer include:

  • 5+ years’ experience developing desktop and mobile applications
  • Client facing (at a senior level if required)
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment
  • Ability to explain complex technical projects simply to clients (and colleagues)
  • Effective planning to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality content
  • Strong self-organisation and project management skills
  • Audience/market focused with awareness of the latest digital trends and the developer landscape
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to establish rapport with people at all levels
  • The ability to adapt effectively to a variety of situations and the resilience and stamina to sustain effective performance under pressure
  • An analytical, inquisitive mind
