Job Description

As a key member of the Identity team, the Digital Strategist will develop and manage the end-to-end creative execution and delivery of a variety of digital projects across multiple platforms, working to understand a client’s specific business objectives and how each digital project fits into their overall business strategy.

Working with department heads and the account management team, the Digital Strategist will be responsible for the planning and implementation of creative paid media strategies for Identity’s flagship clients. This will include involvement on new business pitches and presentations, pulling together insights and audience behaviours to ensure our strategic and creative approach blends seamlessly.

You will build and maintain strong relationships with senior client stakeholders and internal agency teams, staying abreast of industry trends and developments to identify opportunities for existing and potential clients.

You will be a highly motivated, organised and passionate individual that is willing to tackle demanding tasks and take responsibility for actions, using your initiative to make suggestions and working to make things happen. As a strategic thinker that can create clear action plans with realistic timescales, you will manage your own time effectively to ensure that you meet deadlines. You will maintain your customer focus, balancing the demands of a variety of customers, taking pride in the quality of your output in addition to the completion of the task.

Strategic Planning & Decision Making

The Digital Strategist needs to have excellent coordination skills as they are responsible for the management and implementation of digital projects, both for clients and Identity. This includes: attending client meetings and pitches, developing digital briefs & strategy, project, budget and timeline management and overseeing the day-to-day of digital marketing efforts for our clients.

The Digital Strategist will develop detailed plans for project delivery, communicate and track project milestones and monitor progress for all team members and stakeholders against plan, leading and/or facilitating the presentation of deliverables to clients, ensuring that all projects meet accepted best practices in usability and design. You will create project communications plans, prepare status reports and conduct internal and external status meetings regularly as necessary to ensure effective issue resolution and quality project delivery.

You will be a very results-oriented individual, anticipating needs and spotting opportunities to deliver value to our clients and a key requirement within this role is the proactive generation of new ideas, opportunities and solutions. To do this, you will have a clear understanding of our business environment, competitors, products, services, suppliers and pricing structures.


Client satisfaction is our highest priority at Identity and the Digital Strategist must have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to speak to clients confidently while explaining often complex technical solutions and projects simply and effectively. Equally, you will be highly skilled at receiving, interpreting and adapting client briefs, clearly outlining objectives and deliverables to meet expectations and KPIs.

You will use your strong oral and written communication skills to build rapport with internal and external stakeholders on your projects. You will be a good listener, but also highly persuasive, using facts, clear arguments and personal conviction to influence and persuade others.

You will advise and assist on the recruitment of specialist personnel to bolster Identity’s offering in the market while also managing and growing our chain of digital freelancers and suppliers.

Personal Development & Operational

As required the Digital Strategist will attend (and in some cases lead) workshops and other discovery sessions to develop business requirements for projects, communicating those requirements to the delivery team to ensure that solutions meet those requirements.

You will have excellent awareness of the latest digital trends and the overall digital landscape, staying up to date with relevant industry publications, websites and newsletters as well as through attendance at conferences.

Professional Expertise & Skills

  • At least 5+ years proven demonstrable agency experience/track record in strategical digital campaigns, integrated communications implementation and paid social across multiple platforms (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, Snapchat etc) and verticals
  • Ability to take ownership of digital marketing campaigns across all stages – from brief and planning through to delivery and evaluation
  • Experience working on/with large budget clients and campaign
  • Highly skilled at pulling together performance focussed content plans ensuring that they reach the target audience(s) across multiple channels to attract, engage and convert to meet objectives and deliver ROI
  • Knowledge of working within a commercial environment and an understanding of delivering projects that are commercially viable
  • Ability to interact with clients at a variety of levels and across functions to manage expectations and ensure client satisfaction
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment, with effective planning to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality content
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of third-party digital marketing tools, attribution and digital measurement – experience with event related digital tools (for example, Eventbrite) is a plus
  • Google Analytics to expert level is essential; Google Ads to expert level is desirable
  • Good understanding of brand storytelling and narratives
  • Very strong analytical skills/mind – you think of yourself as a problem solver
  • Evaluation and reporting skills – you are driven by data and understand its role in continuous improvement


The position requires exceptional attention to detail and a drive to maintain Identity’s high-quality standards, and desirable qualities for the Digital Strategist include:

  • Experienced (at least 5+ years)
  • Strategic leadership in a digital marketing environment.
  • Client facing (at a senior level if required)
  • An eye for good design, including UX and UI
  • Fluency in English with good writing skills; ideally can write a good headline
  • Audience/market focused with awareness of the latest digital trends and the digital landscape
  • Exceptional organisation, project management and documentational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills, including the ability to present in front of large groups
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to establish rapport with people at all levels and persuade others to your own viewpoint
  • The ability to adapt effectively to a variety of situations and the resilience and stamina to sustain effective performance under pressure
