On 25th August 2017, Identity held their annual Summer BBQ party at Eastbourne’s Saffrons Sports Grounds. The very hot afternoon included plenty of delicious food and drink, as well as various team building activities for all the members of staff to enjoy in the sunshine.

The event started with a wonderful BBQ lunch, along with beers and wine in the picnic area of the sports ground. After a drink or two, this was then followed by the first team game: The Identity Quiz. Each team competed for points to win prizes for the following activity, so it was all to play for!

After many difficult questions, the winners were announced and went up to claim their prizes for the next team task: tower building. Each team took turns to visit the ‘shop’ where supplies were chosen to construct the tallest free-standing tower.

As the time went on, each team chose many different ways to construct their towers with a variety of materials, but there could only be one winner. Congratulations to Sahra, Sam, James, Simon, Nick and Paul with their tallest tower!

Afterwards it was time to get back out in the sunshine to enjoy the glorious weather for the muchly anticipated Croquet competition.

The volunteers of Compton Croquet Club kindly taught us all how to play the game, guiding us in the tournament as it took place. We each partnered up to play against other teams of two, moving around the pitches throughout the tournament. Time flew by as everyone at Identity had lots of fun learning croquet and competing. Congratulations to Shane and Jim for winning the Croquet Tournament and we hope you enjoy your medals.

After the Croquet match, the afternoon carried on into the early evening, where the team at Identity socialised, had a few more drinks and enjoyed the rest of the lovely weather.

Everyone had a fantastic afternoon and we are all very much looking forward to the next Identity social event in the calendar.
