Identity Group has been chosen to support the 2017 Eventice. This is an opportunity for a UK graduate to start a career in events as part of a fast-growing, successful events company.
Identity has partnered with Confex 2017 and ESP Recruitment to provide this one-of-kind, exciting opportunity. Identity Group is growing its events division and expanding the team to manage an ever-increasing portfolio of clients including Google, Apple, Eurotunnel, ITV, Dell and Warner Bros.
Identity Group is a full service events agency located in East Sussex specialising in the design, project management and build of exhibition stands and the production of conferences in the UK and internationally.
The Eventice is taking place at the same time as International Confex which is the UK’s leading event for organisers of both national and international events. The show, which takes place on 1st – 2nd March 2017 at London Olympia provides the largest buying forum for the events industry with venues, destinations, suppliers and buyers networking and doing business. Identity Events are exhibiting once again and looking forward to the opportunities this event has to offer.
The Eventice has been running since 2011 in London and has also been successfully launched in Dubai in 2013. For those of you who haven’t read about it in the press, The Eventice is an Apprentice style competition that allows final year event management students to compete to win up to three jobs in the industry.
It can be tough for graduates in general to get their first step on the ladder, so this competition allows them the opportunity to win one of the most prestigious graduate jobs available. In the past positions have been awarded to graduates with Excel London, DMG Events, George P Johnson, Blitz, Tarsus PLC, Blue Hat, Informa and Innovations Unlimited in Doha.
The students apply to take part by uploading a short video onto a website about themselves with an explanation of why they feel they deserve to win. The applicants are narrowed down to a final 12-15 and invited down to London to take part in a series of tasks over three days, which showcase their ability to multi task, organise, lead, project manage, negotiate, network and present. Their skills are assessed over a period of three days by a group of industry professionals, including Identity Group’s MD Michael Gietzen, Ops Director Paul Fitzpatrick and Senior Project Manager Alicia Parris. The competition culminates in a grand finale with the final five students making a presentation to a high-profile panel of industry experts. The winners are announced and offered a job on the spot.
The competition has placed 21 graduates over the past six years, as a direct result of them taking part in the Eventice and this year is no exception with three positions on offer.
Identity Group is made up of a team of 40 creative like-minded individuals and the team are looking forward to welcoming a graduate into a friendly, tight-knit team!
