Recently, Identity’s Commercial Services Director Rob Gietzen was awarded a certificate for the Site Management Safety Training Scheme (CITB). The course ran for five weeks, where Rob attended external sessions at the Basepoint Business Centre (Newhaven), as well as working on supporting coursework for the completion of the course.

The course covered all relevant legislations affecting safe working in the building, construction and civil engineering industries. It highlighted and taught the need for risk assessments around the workplace and the implementation of control measures to sustain a health and safety culture in the workforce.

With nearly fifty members of staff, Identity is a growing business. We have recently undergone a huge £250,000 expansion at our HQ building in Westham over the last year, which Rob has managed. Along with this, Rob’s role has adapted to include new responsibilities, one of which is ensuring that health and safety requirements are met, and the work environment is a safe and enjoyable space. The expansion has also meant that the information he has gained from the course has been implemented around the office and will be with any future changes to the building.

“The Site Management Safety Training Scheme course was very enlightening, and I learnt a lot.” says Rob. “I look forward to implementing the information learnt to increase our health and safety culture around the Identity office.”

Well done to Rob for his certificate and for making Identity a safer place to work.
