This year, Identity returned to International Confex which took place at Olympia, London over the space of two days. It’s the UK’s leading event for organisers of both national and international events which attracts hundreds of exhibitors along with thousands of event industry professionals. With such high footfall, it was important that Identity’s exhibition stand stood out from the crowd. We used 3D illuminated lettering for our logo which let us immediately catch the eye of visitors entering the main hall. The 3D signage gave our stand a unique look and was strategically placed at the optimum height for impact and awareness. Other features included dye sublimation graphics and custom fitted lightboxes which displayed Identity’s services and highlighted past exhibition stands, conferences and examples of experiential marketing. Shéa Bennett, Identity’s Head of Digital attended Confex as a speaker and gave a successful talk titled ‘Why Facebook is the #1 tool for #eventprofs. The workshop was followed by a Q&A where audience members took the opportunity to ask questions regarding re-marketing and using Facebook to drive footfall for their business. Shéa also joined the International Panel discussion alongside Identity Managing Director Michael Gietzen and Operations Director Paul Fitzpatrick. The discussion focused on how to launch your next event abroad and included a networking session afterwards.

Identity also took part in The Eventice, an Apprentice-style competition where graduates have the chance to compete for one of three full-time jobs in the event industry. The competition was fierce and students were given the opportunity to showcase their presentation skills in front of a large crowd on the International Theatre stage.

Eventually, Identity made their final decision and offered the position of Trainee Project Manager to Carianne de Konig who will now be working across a number of projects including the production of conferences in the UK and abroad.
