Role: Senior (Events & Exhibition) Production Manager
Salary: £35 – 50k per year with time off in lieu for on-site work

Due to Identity’s successes in 2017, we now require a full-time Senior Events Production Manager to support their growing project management team. We are looking for someone who has plenty of experience in the industry, has an eye for detail and enjoys the technical aspects of building an exhibition stand.

Projects at Identity range from 24 sq/m exhibition stands through to 500 sq/m double deck exhibition stands. Candidates will need 5+ years’ experience in the exhibition design and build industry as well as Maths and English Grade C or above.

Job Description

A Senior Production Manager (SPM) needs to have excellent coordination skills as they are responsible for everything to do with a project. This includes; giving design briefs, producing quotations and specifications, conducting site visits, overseeing production, event planning, sub-contractor management, liaising with clients and on-site project management.

They will work closely with clients to make sure that everything is to their satisfaction, not just in terms of sticking to an agreed upon brief, but also making sure any last-minute extras are taken care of. The happiness of the client is the responsibility of the SPM.

Some projects may well be very elaborate affairs, so creativity is a very useful trait for this role. The SPM will be working closely with a large team of people, so good interpersonal skills are essential.

The role requires the highest possible level of customer service, as the satisfaction of our client is the number-one priority at Identity.

The type of projects Identity delivers can be complex in their nature, therefore an understanding of production techniques, materials (metalwork and timber) and technical drawings is essential.

Responsibilities:

Our Senior Production Managers are expected to interpret client briefs and produce full specifications complete with costs. This quotation and email correspondence is a key element which demonstrates Identity’s expertise and is key to winning a project. The specification is subsequently used by the design and production teams to create the product and/or deliver the service.

This position demands up-to-date knowledge of materials, production techniques and solutions while at all times maintaining a professional approach to time, costs and deadlines.

The person must have a confident and enthusiastic approach to our diverse industry and must be committed to delivering excellent customer service.  On a day-to-day basis, our SPMs will work as part of a team and in addition will often work closely with the sales team.

Activities will include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Understanding and recording the client’s brief
  • Spec’ing the project in conjunction with a designer
  • Creating and amending quotes and purchase orders
  • Obtaining costs from contractors and suppliers
  • Overseeing creation of 3D designs
  • Overseeing production of working drawings, and being responsible for their accuracy
  • Creating and maintaining records on Identity’s CRM
  • Creating and maintaining physical and electronic job bags
  • Ordering of venue services
  • Preparation of RAMS
  • Managing complex production and installation schedule
  • Managing sub-contactors
  • Managing installations of on-site of projects
  • Ensuring a project is closed-down and lessons learned recorded
